What is Jim Harbaugh doing?  Surely, he should let us know!  Does Jim Harbaugh have something to hide?  I’m certainly not informed.  Did Jim Harbaugh even know his San Francisco 49-ers had a chance to beat the New Orleans Saints today in the NFC Conference semi-final game?  Or, was Jim Harbaugh stunned as much as we were in this huge conference win?  Great job Jim, but what wasn’t I told? So, I have to consider my sources.  ESPN’s Mike and Mike in the Morning is one of my favorite shows, but they and their contributors don’t seem to know!  Or, they certainly did not give me any hint of what could possibly happen in this game. The Skip meister (Skip Bayless) is all about talking about Tebow magic (that’s what his Twitter followers tell him) …Big gag! …though it is a fun show. Maybe nobody knew!  I watched the first three…

Are You Getting Tired of the Rex Ryan Show Yet?

Rex Ryan, the New York Jets crying head coach… the foot-fetish videos, the renegade image, trash-talking with opposing players… I have just about had enough of this braggart! He reminds me of another a-hole coach who was loved or hated by his players……oh yeah, his father Buddy Ryan! After only 3 years as a head coach, his record is a solid 31-19, with back-to-back AFC Championship appearances in 2009 & 2010. But going just 8-8 and total loss of his team this season with so much being expected (or promised by the coach), brought his act back to earth. It also didn’t take their 4th-string QB (and Rhodes scholar candidate) to say the team had a “corrupt mindset” to see that the wheels have fallen off the Jets bandwagon. In my book, only one Jet can ever make predictions, and that is one Joe Willie Namath! Perhaps Rex will find…

Lions Cornerback, Aaron Berry, Goes Off on Twitter!

Following Detroit’s 45-28 drubbing adminstered by the Saints, 2nd year undrafted free agent from Pitt, Aaron Berry, tweeted “Y’all can go back to being broke and miserable”   … read more on how his Detroit Lion teammates responded.  When will athletes learn how to use social media channels?  Some of teammates know how! This outburst coming after Drew Brees torched the Lions defense for 466 yards and 3 TD bombs. Learn how to be a professional, dude! Don’t you think the faithful Lion fans already have learned to have low expectations? Case in point…..the Lions haven’t even made it to a playoff game since 1991, and they’re one of only 4 teams that have never made a Super Bowl appearance. Berry and Pac-man Jones who also got toasted should just turn off their cellphones and keep their pie-holes shut! They’re lucky to have jobs in the NFL while their city suffers through…

Brett Favre Could Show Some Class!

I just watched the ESPN E:60 report on Aaron Rogers.  It provided a graphic and well orchestrated biographic description of the Green Bay Packer championship quarterback.  As a die-hard Packer fan of  50-years, I’ve witnessed good and bad times.  However, I never experienced such a mix of good with bad in all those years; as I witnessed by watching this show. Brett Favre, a legend in Green Bay and an icon of professional football has me totally pieved!  And, I’m one of his greatest supporters.  He put Green Bay back on the “football map” in the early 1990’s.  Yet, he appears to be lacking a certain “character gene” that I find repulsive! During an interview with Rogers, he was asked if Favre congratulated Rogers following his Super Bowl XLV (45) victory and MVP selection.  Rogers, in his strong character way didn’t say yes or no.  He simply responded with “there…

TV host of HBO’s Real Time, political humorist, funnyman, and atheist Bill Maher’s recent tweet following the Broncos blowout loss to Buffalo has created a national outcry among the Tebow Nation. We’re all entitled to freedom of speech in this country, and I do understand Maher makes his living by outrageous commentary, but even he has gone way out of bounds with this recent tweet: “Wow, Jesus just f***ed Tim Tebow bad… and on Xmas Eve! Somewhere…..Satan is tebowing, saying to Hitler…Hey, Buffalo’s killing them”. Despite no doubt being very polarizing, Tebow at least is extraordinarily positive and uplifting while Maher is nothing but a pompous blowhard, negative on any religious beliefs. I’m pieved!  I had a conversation this evening with my brother …a die-hard Redskin fan.  He’s a bit disgruntled that his Skins won’t be able to draft Matt Barkley since Barkley announced earlier today that he would stay at USC and complete his senior year.  I recommended the Redskins might be better off trying to sign Matt Flynn as a free agent. Flynn has some solid professional experience under the tutelage of Packer coach Mike McCarthy and Super Bowl MVP Aaron Rogers. He didn’t want to hear that!  He seems committed to his belief that a truly successful NFL quarterback can only be a quarterback that is drafted and “steps into the fire” immediately.
